  • Birthday (only as required for certain accreditations)
  • License or other information required for certain accreditations)
  • Account activity data (when you log in, what courses you took, completion dates, and other account activity)
  • Information on your computer, device, or browser as part of technical or user support
  • Any information you volunteer or provide as part of a learning activity, survey, test, assignment, or forum

How We Use Personal Data

  • To provide and maintain our service, including to monitor the usage of our service.
  • To manage your account and your registration as a user of the service. The personal data you provide can give you access to different functionalities of the service that are available to you as a registered user.
  • For the performance of the contract. The development, compliance, and undertaking of the purchase contract for the products, items, or services you have purchased or of any other contract with us through the service.

  • For processing payments. We use a third-party payment processor to assist in securely processing your payment information. If you pay with a credit card, the payment information that you provide through the service is encrypted and transmitted directly to the payment processor. We do not store your payment information, nor do we control or are responsible for the payment processors or their collection or use of your information. How We Share Personal Data

  • Access to our users’ information is restricted to only those employees or agents, contractors, or subcontractors who have valid reasons to access this information to perform any service you have requested or authorized, or for any other purpose described in this Privacy Policy.   • If your employer or other organization enrolled you in a course or courses. In some cases, organizations contract with Diversity Science to provide educational services. They then provide Diversity Science with lists of employees or members who they wish to enroll in courses. They may request information on course completion status. We provide that information. The information we provide is limited to completion status for courses in which you were specifically enrolled by your employer. If you also self-enroll for other courses, that information remains private and will not be shared without your consent. We will use your information to track your progress, manage your account, and provide support. Some of the information we collect is needed to provide you with the credits offered through our accredited courses. We will not share any of your personal information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request or legal obligations.
  • When you share personal information or otherwise interact in the public areas with other users, such information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed.
  • With your consent, we may disclose your personal information for any other purpose.
  • To support receiving accreditation for our courses, we may need to share aggregate, non-personally identifiable information with third parties.
  • We use aggregate, non-personally identifiable usage data for this website for the purposes of evaluating performance, system health, and identifying problems or improvements to our technology.
  • Finally, we will access, disclose and preserve personal data when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to: 1) comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal processes, including from law enforcement or other government agencies, upon valid and enforceable request thereof; 2) operate and maintain the security of our services, including to prevent or stop an attack on our computer systems or networks; 3) protect your vital interests or of another natural person (for example, if you express an intent to harm yourself or another).

We take precautions to protect your information. This website uses encryption and all interactions are transmitted securely. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address on the website page. We also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, user support, billing, or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers where we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. Passwords are stored in an encrypted format on disk for further security. Backups and records are stored in an encrypted location with restricted access.
